Celebrate Your Hypes - Big And Small

If you are anything like me, you probably pause every time before sharing your hypes and think - should I?

There are deep cultural, societal and personal reasons that make us miss out on celebrating ourselves and our achievements. So next time you’re hovering above that share button, think of this:

1. Your small (and big) wins will set the tone and encourage others in your team that might need a little boost today;
2. There is only one way to foster a culture that celebrates the individuals around you, and that is to take the plunge yourself. Together, we democratise recognition one hype at a time 🙌
3. Someone else, perhaps a junior colleague or simply a shy one, could be hovering above their own share button right now and wondering if they should…

Using Slack to share with your Pod is not only the fastest and easiest way to track your own goals and achievements, it’s also about making every hype count for someone else out there that needs you to set an example.

Here's a walkthrough on how to add your Hypes through the HypeDocs Slack App.

1. Go to the channel that HypeDocs is installed in, in my case it's #hypes. Write /hype add hype into the chat box and hit enter.

2. This will open up a modal where you can enter your Hype. Remember - you should be adding your small and big wins. Start by entering a title and pick a date for your hype. Next you can attach this hype to any of your goals - remember you can create a goal very easily as well. Next add any additional details, links or information about your Hype - it's always best to talk about the challenges you faced or why you're proud of this accomplishment as well.

3. At the end of the form, you can choose to share your Hype with other people on yourt team or not. Sharing Hypes is a great way to build your confidence, while giving others in your team a reminder and boost that they're also doing amazing things too. You can help that shy teammate hit share on their own Hypes!

4. Congrats! Your hype is added to your HypeDocs and if you opted to share it with your pod, it's shared with your team too. Add your other Hypes and go back to being your awesome self!
